Four-time Formula 1 champion Max Verstappen advised Red Bull to “keep an eye” on Gabriel Bortoleto before his F1 debut with Sauber. Bortoleto signed with Sauber after winning the Formula 2 Championship in 2024 and the Formula 3 Championship in 2023. Verstappen mentioned his advice on the Pelas Pistas podcast, expressing interest in a future partnership with Bortoleto. With Verstappen under contract with Red Bull until 2028, he emphasized the importance of Bortoleto’s opportunity to be competitive. Bortoleto, currently 19th in the drivers’ standings, aims to learn and improve in Formula 1, with support from teammate Nico Hulkenberg. Hulkenberg’s advice motivates Bortoleto to persevere through the challenges of the sport, aiming for future success.
